Seeberge BlogCast - No.02 - Clubnight History

The hr3 Clubnight (later only Clubnight) was a DJ-broadcast, which was realized and launched in 1990 by Markus Hertle for the Hessian radio station hr3. The spiritual father of the broadcast is Jörg Albrecht. For the first time the hr3 Clubnight took place on May 5, 1990 with Torsten Fenslau. On hr3, the program was broadcast every Saturday from 9 pm to midnight between 1990 and 2001. Resident DJs of the first years were Torsten Fenslau, Sven Väth, Lady D., Chilly T. and Heinz Felber, later with Mark Spoon, DJ Dag, Talla 2XLC and Ulli Brenner. The hr channel You FM discontinued Clubnight after 24 years in June 2014. The Clubnight was soon after its foundation as a platform for the growing Frankfurt club scene. In addition to some regional newcomers, also internationally known DJs put on over the years in the Clubnight on. The broadcast was usually broadcast sparingly without advertising and news. Depending on the DJ, the program featured a wide range of club-suitable music genres such as hip-hop, eurodance, drum and bass, techno, trance, chillout and trip-hop. Techno events (Sound of Frankfurt, Clubnight Birthday, Mayday or from 1993 onwards from the Hessentag) were broadcast live on a regular basis. The program has also been broadcasted from clubs such as Aufschwung Ost / Stammheim, Dorian Gray or Omen.
